Former Resort VP Charged with Battery After Disney Restaurant Incident
John Munro, accused of slapping a hostess over a dress code dispute, is set to appear in court next month.
- John Munro, 64, former Vice President of Hospitality, Sales, and Marketing at the Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head, is accused of slapping a 19-year-old hostess at Citricos restaurant in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.
- The incident occurred in November 2023 when Munro, allegedly under the influence, was refused seating due to violation of the restaurant's dress code.
- Munro, who was wearing swim shorts and a T-shirt, was told he could not dine with his family. Despite this, he followed the party to their table and slapped the hostess three times on the forehead.
- The hostess sustained no injuries and declined medical treatment, but wished to pursue charges. Munro was arrested and released on a $1,000 bond the next morning.
- Munro has since been placed on administrative leave from his position at the Sea Pines Resort. He has entered a plea of not guilty and is expected to appear in court for a pre-trial conference hearing on Feb. 16.
