Former Reform UK Wales Leader Nathan Gill Faces Bribery Charges Over Alleged Pro-Russia Statements
Nathan Gill, ex-MEP and former Reform UK leader, denies accusations of accepting payments to promote Russian narratives in the European Parliament.
- Nathan Gill, 51, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bribery and eight counts of bribery during his tenure as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP).
- The charges allege Gill accepted cash payments in exchange for making statements favorable to Russia, including in the European Parliament and media outlets such as 112 Ukraine.
- Prosecutors claim the payments were arranged by former Ukrainian politician Oleg Voloshyn, who is also facing charges but is currently outside UK jurisdiction.
- Gill has denied the allegations and is set to formally enter a plea during a hearing on July 18, with a trial scheduled to begin on June 29, 2026, at the Old Bailey.
- The court has imposed bail conditions on Gill, including surrendering his passport, refraining from obtaining travel documents, and avoiding contact with Voloshyn.
