Former Pro Boxer Luke Crowcroft Jailed for Role in Asylum Seeker Hotel Riots

Crowcroft, known as 'The Beast,' was sentenced to two and a half years for violent disorder outside a Rotherham hotel.

Luke Crowcroft, a 30-year-old former professional boxer from Doncaster, was involved in a mob attack on a police van outside a hotel housing asylum seekers.
The riots on August 4th at the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers, Rotherham, left 64 officers, three police dogs, and a horse injured.
Crowcroft's defense highlighted his disciplined background in boxing and his role in caring for his partner's 15-year-old son.
Judge Sarah Wright sentenced Crowcroft to two years and six months in prison at Sheffield Crown Court.
Two other individuals, Ashley Lowe and Ben Beardsley, were also jailed for their involvement in the violent disorder.
