Overview

  • Carra Samantha Luke, 48, was found with critical injuries at her Taigum home just after midnight on Saturday and was declared dead at the scene.
  • A 52-year-old man from McDowall, known to Ms Luke, has been charged with murder classified as a domestic violence offence and with entering a dwelling with intent.
  • The accused is scheduled to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
  • Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public as crime scenes remain at addresses in Taigum and McDowall, and they are appealing for witnesses and relevant CCTV.
  • Assistant Commissioner Rhys Wildman described the scene as traumatic for first responders, with support services offered, as colleagues remembered Ms Luke’s decades-long nursing career at a Wavell Heights practice.
