Former NY Gov. David Paterson and Stepson Assaulted in Manhattan
Two minors have been charged following an attack on David Paterson and his stepson during a walk on the Upper East Side.
- David Paterson, 70, and his stepson, Anthony Sliwa, 20, were attacked by a group while walking their dog in Manhattan.
- The altercation began after Sliwa confronted the group about climbing a fire escape, leading to a later confrontation.
- Two boys, aged 12 and 13, have been arrested and charged with gang assault in connection with the incident.
- Both victims sustained minor injuries and were treated at a hospital before being released.
- Paterson, legally blind and New York's first Black governor, expressed gratitude for the police response and public support.
