Former North Dakota Lawmaker Rick Becker Announces Bid for U.S. House Seat

Becker, a Republican and founder of the Bastiat Caucus, is also leading a 2024 initiative to eliminate local property taxes.

Former North Dakota lawmaker and Republican, Rick Becker, has announced his candidacy for the state's only seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Becker had an unsuccessful U.S. Senate bid in 2022 as an independent, receiving over 18% of the statewide vote.
He served in the state House from 2012-22 and founded the Bastiat Caucus, advocating for more gun rights and tighter budgets.
Becker is also leading a proposed 2024 ballot initiative to eliminate local property taxes.
He will be running against Republican U.S. Rep. Kelly Armstrong, an attorney and former state senator, and Democrat Trygve Hammer, a military veteran.
