Former NFL tight end Russ Francis dies in New York plane crash

The Cessna 177 plane crashed shortly after takeoff when it experienced a loss of power.
Francis played for the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers, winning Super Bowl XIX.
He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection during his NFL career as a tight end.
