- The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences confirmed Wells’ induction at the 29th DICE Awards on February 12 at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas.
- Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann will present the award, describing the recognition as well deserved for Wells’ leadership.
- AIAS president Meggan Scavio praised Wells for vision, integrity, and for nurturing talent that has influenced developers and players worldwide.
- Wells joined Naughty Dog in 1998, became co-president in 2004, and helped guide franchises including Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Uncharted, and The Last of Us.
- He retired from Naughty Dog in July 2023 after more than 25 years, following earlier work at Sega and Crystal Dynamics on titles such as ToeJam & Earl and Gex.
