- Former MLB star Jose Bautista has acquired full ownership of the Las Vegas Lights Football Club, a United Soccer League squad.
- Bautista has been diversifying his business portfolio since retiring from professional baseball in 2023, with investments in various sports and non-sports businesses.
- Prior to this, Bautista was an early partner, lead investor and board member for Marucci Sports, a baseball equipment startup, and has also invested in Canadian outerwear company Canada Goose and Endy Sleep, a Canada-based e-commerce company.
- Bautista is also a partner and senior advisor to MyAccountant, a leading personal finance technology company, and has partnership agreements with several brands, including Audi, Hublot, Coca-Cola, TD Bank, General Mills, The Players Tribune and New Balance.
- The Las Vegas Lights FC, which debuted in the USL Championship in 2018, will kick off its 2024 campaign on March 9.
