Former Mets outfielder Joe Christopher dies at 88

Joe Christopher was an original member of the New York Mets when the team started in 1962.
He had his best season with the Mets in 1964, leading the team in RBIs and finishing 16th in the National League.
Christopher batted .300 with 16 home runs and 76 RBIs for the Mets in 1964.
He is credited with helping teammates learn Spanish phrases which inspired the band name Yo La Tengo.
Christopher died this week at the age of 88 after playing for the Mets from 1962-1965.
