Former Marine pleads guilty to Jan. 6 disorderly conduct charge amid debunked conspiracy theories

Ray Epps pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as part of a plea deal.
Epps was falsely accused in right-wing conspiracy theories of being a government agent instigating the riot, which authorities denied.
Epps admitted to being on restricted Capitol grounds and encouraging others to enter the building but did not himself go inside.
Despite not entering the Capitol or being violent, Epps was charged over a year after the riot for disorderly conduct.
Epps' sentencing is in December, and guidelines suggest 0-6 months in prison for the misdemeanor charge.
