Former Jets Running Back Kevin Long Dies at 69

Kevin Long, known for his record-breaking college career and NFL tenure with the New York Jets, passed away on Tuesday.

Kevin Long, a standout running back for the University of South Carolina, died at the age of 69.
He was the first player in South Carolina's history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, achieving 1,133 yards in 1975.
Long was drafted by the New York Jets in 1977 and played five seasons with the team, amassing 2,190 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns.
After his NFL career, Long played in the USFL, where he continued to excel with teams like the Chicago Blitz and Arizona Wranglers.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie, their four children, and six grandchildren, with funeral plans yet to be finalized.
