Overview
- Lucknow Police took Thakur into custody at about 3:45 am from the Maholi border in Sitapur, according to DCP Vishwajeet Shrivastava.
- Investigators allege he misused his post as Deoria superintendent of police to obtain an industrial plot in his wife’s name using forged identities and documents, which was later sold.

- The SIT says it gathered documents in Deoria, verified alleged false names and addresses in Bihar, examined official records, and recorded witness statements.
