Former Goa MLA Lavoo Mamlatdar Dies After Assault by Auto Driver in Karnataka

Lavoo Mamlatdar, a former Goa MLA and retired deputy superintendent of police, died in Belagavi, Karnataka, after being assaulted by an auto driver during a dispute over a minor road accident.
CCTV footage revealed that the altercation escalated when Mamlatdar slapped the auto driver, who retaliated with multiple strikes to Mamlatdar's face before bystanders intervened.
Mamlatdar collapsed on the staircase of a lodge shortly after the incident and was declared dead upon arrival at a government hospital.
Police have arrested the auto driver, identified as Shakeel Sanadi, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is underway.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and other political leaders expressed condolences, highlighting Mamlatdar's contributions as a public servant and legislator.
