Former Fugees rapper Pras Michel found guilty of receiving tens of millions of dollars in illegal foreign payments for political influence

Pras Michel, a founding member of The Fugees, was convicted of receiving $100 million from Malaysian financier Jho Low to illegally influence American politics.
Michel funneled money through straw donors to Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign and tried to end a Justice Department investigation into Jho Low during Donald Trump's administration.
Witnesses including Leonardo DiCaprio and former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions testified against Michel.
Michel was found guilty of 10 federal crimes including money laundering, illegal lobbying, and witness tampering.
Michel faces up to 20 years in prison and plans to appeal the verdict.
