Former Florida State Basketball Players Sue Coach Leonard Hamilton Over $1.5M NIL Dispute

Six former Florida State basketball players claim Coach Leonard Hamilton failed to fulfill promises of $1.5 million in NIL payments during the 2023-24 season.
The lawsuit, filed in Leon County Circuit Court, includes allegations of breach of contract, promissory estoppel, and fraudulent inducement.
Players reportedly boycotted a practice and threatened to skip a game against Duke in February 2024 over unpaid NIL money, but played after Hamilton reassured them payment was imminent.
Text messages included in the complaint detail players' financial struggles and frustrations, as well as communications with Hamilton and an NIL collective executive.
Florida State University has stated it is investigating the claims and supports Hamilton's right to defend himself against the allegations.
