Holland succeeds interim coach John Hutchison, who stepped in after Harry Kewell was fired midseason due to poor results.
The 54-year-old brings extensive coaching experience, including helping England reach two European Championship finals and a World Cup semi-final alongside Southgate.
Yokohama F. Marinos, part of the City Football Group, finished ninth in the 2024 J. League season, 20 points behind champions Vissel Kobe.
