Former Congresswoman Mia Love Enters Final Stage of Brain Cancer Battle

Mia Love, the first Black Republican woman elected to Congress, is focusing on spending her remaining time with family after her glioblastoma stopped responding to treatment.

Mia Love, who served Utah's 4th Congressional District from 2015 to 2019, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2022.
Her daughter, Abigale, announced on social media that Love's cancer is no longer responding to treatment and the focus has shifted to making her comfortable and cherishing time together.
Love made history as the first Black Republican woman in Congress and Utah's first Black representative, serving on the Financial Services Committee and as a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
