Overview
- Dennis Kucinich, former Democratic Representative and Cleveland Mayor, has filed to run as an independent against Republican Representative Max Miller for his congressional seat in Ohio.
- Kucinich served in Congress from 1997-2013 and was mayor from 1977-1979. He is also known for his unsuccessful presidential campaigns in 2004 and 2008.
- Miller, a former Donald Trump aide, ran with the former president's endorsement. He previously defeated Democrat Matthew Diemer, who is also running again in the party's primary.
- Kucinich missed the deadline to file for the Democratic primary in December, but the deadline to run as an independent is open until March.
- Before filing to run for Congress, Kucinich served as campaign manager for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is now running an independent campaign.
