Harry Dunn, a former Capitol Police officer who defended the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 attack, has announced his candidacy for Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District seat.
Dunn is joining a crowded Democratic primary field looking to replace retiring Democrat U.S. Rep. John Sarbanes.
Dunn, who received the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Biden, has stated his campaign will focus on preventing another Jan. 6-like attack from happening.
