Former Bundesliga Goalkeeper Georg Koch Hosts Farewell Charity Match

Georg Koch, 52, revealed his incurable pancreatic cancer diagnosis in May 2023, with doctors initially giving him six months to live.
The farewell match will take place on Saturday at 3:00 PM, featuring Koch's home club VfR Marienfeld against Fortuna Düsseldorf's
Prominent former players like Friedhelm Funkel, Jörg Böhme, and Ansgar Brinkmann have committed to participating in the event.
Proceeds from the game will support the Kinderkrebshilfe St. Augustin, a charity aiding children with cancer.
Koch, who played for several clubs including MSV Duisburg and PSV Eindhoven, will not play but will make the ceremonial kickoff with his family.
