The investigation focuses on cocaine smuggled from South America to Europe through Belgium's Port of Antwerp, with drugs redistributed within the country.
Authorities conducted 30 searches, seizing 2.7 kilos of cocaine, €500,000 in cash, gold coins, luxury watches, firearms, and vehicles.
Nainggolan was conditionally released on bail after being charged as a member, not a leader, of the alleged criminal organization.
Lokeren-Temse, Nainggolan's current club, stated they were unaware of the arrest until media reports and declined further comment, citing the presumption of innocence.
