Alves, who has been in prison without bail since January, denies the claims and says he had consensual sex with his accuser.
The alleged assault took place in a Barcelona nightclub in December 2022.
If found guilty, Alves could face a jail sentence of four to 15 years.
Alves' most recent club, Mexican side Pumas UNAM, terminated his contract with immediate effect in January.
