Former Arsenal Player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas Charged with £600,000 Cannabis Smuggling
The footballer was arrested in Scotland and is accused of attempting to import 60kg of cannabis through Stansted Airport.
- Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, currently playing for Greenock Morton, was arrested at his home in Gourock, Scotland.
- The 33-year-old is accused of orchestrating the smuggling of cannabis worth £600,000 from Thailand.
- The National Crime Agency seized 60kg of cannabis in two suitcases at Stansted Airport on September 2.
- Two women, aged 28 and 32, were also arrested and charged in connection with the drug seizure.
- Emmanuel-Thomas has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Carlisle Crown Court on October 18.
