Former Arkansas Teacher Pleads Guilty to Multiple Counts of Sexual Assault

Heather Hare, a former teacher from Arkansas, has pleaded guilty to having sex with a high school student up to 30 times during the 2021-2022 school year.
The sexual encounters took place at various locations including her residence, her vehicle, her classroom, school parking lots, and during a school trip to Washington D.C.
Hare began one-on-one counseling sessions with the student, identified as JR, on the first day of his senior year, eventually giving him her personal phone number and primarily communicating with him through Instagram and Snapchat.
Hare has pleaded guilty to transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity, a crime punishable by not less than 10 years imprisonment and up to life imprisonment.
Hare has made a plea deal seeking 13 years in prison, but the judge has not revealed whether he has accepted the deal, opening the possibility of a life sentence.
