Former Annapurna Interactive Staff Form New Studio to Take Over Private Division Titles

The new studio, supported by Haveli Investments, will manage franchises like Kerbal Space Program, Tales of the Shire, and an unannounced Game Freak project after Take-Two sold Private Division.

Former employees of Annapurna Interactive, who resigned in 2024 after internal conflicts, have formed a new studio to oversee Private Division’s portfolio.
Private equity firm Haveli Investments acquired Private Division from Take-Two Interactive in late 2024 and partnered with the ex-Annapurna staff to manage the titles.
Key titles under the new studio include Kerbal Space Program, the upcoming Lord of the Rings-inspired farming game Tales of the Shire, and an unannounced project from Pokémon developer Game Freak.
The transition will lead to layoffs among the roughly 20 employees who were part of Private Division at the time of its acquisition by Haveli.
Annapurna Interactive, under new leadership, continues to operate separately, focusing on its existing commitments while the former team embarks on this new venture.
