Former All-Star Tiffany Hayes Retires from WNBA

Cites Age and Physical Toll of Year-Round Play as Reasons for Retirement

Tiffany Hayes, former All-Star guard, has announced her retirement from the WNBA after 11 seasons.
Hayes, who was part of two national championship teams at UConn, averaged 13.6 points in 317 WNBA games with the Atlanta Dream and Connecticut Sun.
She cited age and the physical toll of playing year-round as reasons for her retirement.
Hayes is currently playing for Shanghai of the Chinese Women's Basketball Association and has not ruled out continuing to play overseas.
During her WNBA career, Hayes was an All-Star in 2017 and averaged a career-high 17.2 points in the following season.
