Mac Bailey Marquette Indicted for Killing Steve Perkins During Truck Repossession Dispute

Former Alabama police officer Mac Bailey Marquette, 23, has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Steve Perkins, 39, during a dispute with a tow truck driver.
Perkins was shot and killed in front of his home on Sept. 29 when officers accompanied a tow truck driver trying to repossess Perkins’ truck.
Marquette is one of three officers who were fired in connection with the incident, while a fourth officer was suspended.
The Perkins family's attorney has claimed that officers ambushed Perkins as he came out of his home and that Perkins did not seem aware of their presence.
The fatal shooting has drawn regular protests in the north Alabama city, with protesters carrying signs reading 'You could have knocked' and 'We need answers.'
