Forestry Accident in Buchdorf Leaves Worker Severely Injured

A 30-year-old man sustained a serious leg injury when a tree fell on him during logging operations in Bavaria's Donau-Ries district.

The accident occurred on Saturday during tree-felling work in a state forest near Buchdorf, Bavaria.
The injured man was working alongside his 60-year-old father and brother at the time of the incident.
The father was operating a chainsaw to fell a 26-meter-tall alder tree, which struck his son's leg as it fell.
The 30-year-old suffered an open fracture of his left lower leg and was airlifted to the University Hospital in Augsburg for treatment.
Emergency responders included 45 firefighters from local units, a rescue helicopter, a doctor, and an ambulance crew.
