Forest Whitaker Cast in MGM+'s 'Emperor of Ocean Park'

Whitaker to Portray Judge Oliver Garland in Series Based on Stephen L. Carter's Novel

Forest Whitaker has joined the cast of MGM+'s suspense thriller series, 'Emperor of Ocean Park'.
The series is based on the novel by Stephen L. Carter and is set in the world of politics, Ivy League academia, and the beaches of Martha's Vineyard.
Whitaker will play the role of Judge Oliver Garland, a formidable figure in national politics and the judicial system, and the patriarch of his family.
The plot revolves around Talcott Garland, an Ivy League law professor whose life is disrupted when his father, Judge Oliver Garland, dies under questionable circumstances.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with Sherman Payne serving as the showrunner.
