Forensic Tests Confirm Skull Is Julian Story’s, SA Police Say

Forensic testing linked the skull found by a dog walker near Port Lincoln to the 39-year-old.

Overview

  • SA Police said Forensic Science SA identified the remains that were discovered on July 31 in scrubland east of Port Lincoln.
  • Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke previously noted the site where the skull was found had not been part of earlier search zones.
  • Emergency services discovered Story’s body on June 19 after a small fire at the unit the couple shared on the Flinders Highway.
  • Police allege Tamika Chesser killed her partner around midnight on June 17 and have charged her with murder, destroying human remains, and assaulting a police officer.
  • Chesser is held under a forensic mental-health order at James Nash House, with the case next listed at Adelaide Magistrates Court in December.
