Overview

  • Metadata shows the file was modified and saved repeatedly over a span of more than three and a half hours on May 23, 2025, contradicting claims that the footage was unedited raw video.
  • WIRED and independent video forensics experts confirmed that approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds were removed from the end of the first source clip before it was released.
  • The released footage is a composite of two Adobe Premiere Pro–assembled files that cut out the period between 11:58:58 p.m. and midnight on August 9–10, 2019.
  • Attorney General Pam Bondi’s assertion that a routine nightly system reset caused only a one-minute gap is undermined by evidence of extensive trimming and repeated edits.
  • The Department of Justice and FBI have not explained the discrepancies in the footage, prompting renewed bipartisan demands for full transparency and further disclosures.
