Overview
- The DAFI report was delivered to prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita on Friday, July 17 and flagged inconsistencies in the declared assets of Manuel Adorni and his wife Bettina Angeletti.
- DAFI reconstructed year‑by‑year holdings, income, debts, purchases and crypto wallet operations and cross‑checked those movements with banking, tax and market records.
- The file will be reviewed during the judicial winter recess from July 20 to 31 and the fiscal office is expected to issue a formal requerimiento de justificación patrimonial when courts reopen in early August.
- Adorni has said the funds came from a 2013–2014 Bitcoin investment of about USD 200,000 that he says grew to roughly USD 500,000 and that claim will be tested against the forensic tracing in the report.
- If Adorni’s explanations to the patrimonial demand are judged insufficient, prosecutor Pollicita may ask Judge Ariel Lijo to summon him for an indagatoria, a step that would bring the case into a formal questioning phase and affect the couple’s legal exposure.
