Overview

• A forensic expert reported seven surgical perforations on Marilha Menezes Antunes, with at least two entering the abdominal cavity and causing the internal hemorrhage identified as the cause of death, and the IML also noted a kidney perforation.
• José Emílio de Brito was arrested in Tijuca under a 30-day temporary warrant linked to the Sept. 8 procedure, with police continuing to hear family members, first responders and former patients.
• Clínica Amacor in Campo Grande remains interdicted after inspections found expired medications and inadequate conditions in the surgical center, ambulatory and pharmacy.
