Ford Unveils Mustang Dark Horse SC With GTD’s Supercharged 5.2-Liter V8

Ford positions the model as the GT500’s successor below the GTD with power and price undisclosed.

Overview

  • The new Dark Horse SC arrives in Standard and Track Pack forms, with the Track Pack adding carbon-fiber wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, expanded aero, and a claimed 68 kg weight reduction.
  • Engineered alongside the GTD and GT4, the car gains larger cooling openings, an aluminum hood with a major vent, a reworked front end, and a prominent rear wing that help the Track Pack produce up to 281 kg of downforce at around 290 km/h.
  • A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic handles shifting, and Ford’s Variable Traction Control offers five levels with the option to fully disable electronic stability control.
  • Chassis upgrades include latest-generation MagneRide dampers, revised suspension geometry, and larger Brembo braking hardware designed for sustained track use.
  • Official output and pricing remain unannounced, with media placing power estimates near 700 hp, and U.S. customer deliveries are expected in Q3 2026.
