Ford Unveils 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC With Supercharged 5.2-Liter V8 and DCT

Order books open in March 2026 with first deliveries slated for summer.

Overview

  • The SC pairs a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 with an exclusive seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, dropping the Dark Horse’s manual and 10-speed options.
  • An optional SC Track Pack adds Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-fiber wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, and aero that Ford says generates up to 620 pounds of rear downforce at 180 mph.
  • Engineering draws from Mustang GT3 and GTD programs, bringing upgraded MagneRide dampers, forged suspension links, a magnesium strut brace, revised suspension geometry, and variable traction control.
  • Ford has not released horsepower, torque, or pricing, and it positions the SC between the standard Dark Horse and the limited-production GTD.
  • The official Detroit debut followed a day-early reveal in a Red Bull video featuring Max Verstappen that showed the car and its SC badging.
