Ford to Move Global HQ to New Dearborn Campus, Glass House to Be Demolished

The relocation co-locates top executives with product teams to speed software-driven vehicle development.

Overview

  • The 2.1 million-square-foot Ford World Headquarters on the former Product Development Center opens in November 2025 with a dedication and public tours.
  • Ford says most of the campus is complete this year, with a final section finishing in 2027 and hundreds of employees already working on-site.
  • The building accommodates up to 4,000 people, placing roughly 14,000 employees within a 15-minute walk for tighter collaboration.
  • Features include six design studios, a 160,000-square-foot food hall, 300-plus tech-enabled meeting rooms and a target of Net-Zero Energy.
  • After teams vacate in 2026, the 1956 Glass House will be sustainably decommissioned and demolished over about 18 months as Ford and Dearborn plan the site’s future.
