Ford taps former Apple exec to lead new software services unit

Ford has hired Peter Stern, former Apple vice president, to run its new Ford Integrated Services division focused on software services.
Stern will be tasked with expanding offerings like Ford's hands-free driving system BlueCruise and developing new productivity and security services.
At Apple, Stern oversaw services including Apple TV+, iCloud, Apple Books, and Apple Arcade.
Ford aims to increase recurring revenue from software services tenfold in coming years as part of its Ford+ plan.
Stern will report directly to Ford CEO Jim Farley as the company focuses on connected vehicles.
