Ford, Stellantis and Mercedes-Benz Recall 860,000 Vehicles for Fuel, Seating and Camera Defects

Mercedes-Benz dealers are already repairing Metris rearview camera connections at no charge ahead of Ford and Stellantis owner notifications due from mid-August through early September

Overview

  • Ford will recall nearly 700,000 Bronco Sport (2021–2024) and Escape (2020–2022) SUVs with 1.5L engines after NHTSA filings warned that fuel injectors may crack and leak inside the engine compartment
  • Stellantis is recalling 121,398 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models from 2023–2024 because second-row head restraints may not lock upright, increasing injury risk in certain crashes
  • Mercedes-Benz’s recall of 43,422 Metris vans from model years 2020–2023 addresses unsecured infotainment connections that can disable rearview cameras and heighten accident risk
  • Dealers have begun inspecting and repairing affected Metris infotainment connections free of charge to restore camera function before formal owner notices arrive
  • Ford will mail initial recall notifications in mid-August with follow-up remedy details pending approval and Stellantis will dispatch Grand Cherokee letters on September 5
