Ford Recalls Over 270,000 Bronco and Maverick Vehicles for Battery Defects

The recall addresses a 12-volt battery defect that could cause power loss, affecting specific Bronco Sport and Maverick models from 2021 to 2023.

Ford is recalling 272,827 Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick pickup trucks due to a defect in 12-volt batteries supplied by Camel Battery of China.
The defect, linked to weld failures and internal manufacturing issues, may cause sudden power loss, stalling, or failure to start the vehicle.
No accidents, injuries, or fires have been reported, and the defect is estimated to affect only 1% of the recalled vehicles.
Ford is offering free inspections and battery replacements at dealerships, with notifications to owners expected by February 3, 2025.
This recall follows previous Ford recalls for power loss issues and comes after the company committed to improving its recall processes under federal oversight.
