Ford Recalls 355,656 F-150 and Super Duty Trucks Over Blank Instrument Panel

Owners will get a free software fix at dealers or via an over-the-air update.

This Feb. 11, 2016 photo shows the Ford logo on display at the Pittsburgh International Auto Show in Pittsburgh. Ford is recalling about 830,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Mexico, on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, because the side door latches can break and the doors can open while the vehicles are moving. The recall covers certain 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape SUVs and C-Max cars, and 2012 to 2015 Focus cars. Also included are 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect vans, and Ford Mustang sports cars and Lincoln MKC SUVs from 2015.(AP Photo/Gene J. Puskar)

Overview

  • The action covers 2025 F-150 pickups and 2025–2026 Super Duty models including the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 in the United States.
  • A software fault can keep the instrument panel cluster from starting, leaving the display blank and hiding speed, warning lights and other vital information.
  • Ford says it knows of no crashes or injuries tied to the issue, though 95 warranty complaints had been recorded as of June 26, 2025.
  • The defective software entered production in June 2024 and was removed from builds in July 2025, according to recall documents.
  • NHTSA documents show the filing dated Aug. 22 and owner notification letters slated to begin Sept. 2, while Ford casts the recall as part of a broader 2025 push to address defects quickly.
