2024 Ford Bronco Wildtrak 4x4 is displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show, in Los Angeles on Nov. 21, 2024.

Overview

  • The recall encompasses 1,075,299 Ford and Lincoln vehicles from 2021–2025, including Bronco, F-150, Edge, Escape, Transit, Expedition, Mustang Mach-E, Ranger and multiple F-series and Lincoln models.
  • A software error in the accessory protocol interface module may cause the rearview camera image to freeze, delay or disappear when reversing, reducing drivers’ rear visibility.
  • Ford has acknowledged one minor crash causing property damage linked to the malfunction but reports no related injuries.
  • Owners can install a free APIM software update over the air or at dealerships once the remedy arrives in the third quarter of 2025.
  • This recall follows two April actions covering about 289,000 vehicles for similar camera issues and a $165 million NHTSA civil penalty in November 2024 over delayed rearview camera recalls.
