Ford Ranger Super Duty Proves Toughness With 600kg Mud-Loading Trial

  • Ford’s prototype Ranger Super Duty was coated in more than 600kg of dried mud on a purpose-built “mud hell” course at Victoria’s You Yangs Proving Ground to mimic remote mine site and off-road conditions.
  • Even smothered in dried clay, the Ranger still towed over 1,000kg, demonstrating its ability to haul heavy loads under extreme debris accumulation.
  • The Super Duty’s reinforced chassis and upgraded cooling system support its 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel’s 154kW output, 600Nm of torque, 1,825kg payload and 295mm of ground clearance.
  • The mud-pack trial represents the final stage of Ford’s “Built Ford Tough” validation program ahead of early 2026 showroom deliveries.
  • Ford Australia has set pricing from AUD 82,990 before on-road costs for cab-chassis models, with pickup variants arriving later in 2026.
