Ford Launches New Tesla Supercharger Adapter for EV Owners

The new Ford-branded adapter, co-developed with Lectron, addresses previous issues and expands access to Tesla's extensive charging network.

Ford's new adapter allows its electric vehicles to charge at nearly 18,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S.
The adapter, developed with Lectron, is offered alongside existing Tesla-produced adapters to increase supply and reduce wait times.
Ford previously advised customers to stop using some older adapters due to potential charging issues, but the new adapters are not replacements for those units.
The Lectron 'Vortex' adapters are designed to handle up to 500 amps and 1,000 volts, similar to Tesla's specifications.
Customers awaiting a complimentary adapter may receive the new Ford-branded version or the existing approved adapter, with the option to purchase for $200 if not eligible for a free unit.
