Ford and RTR Unveil Drift-Focused Mustang RTR for 2026 EcoBoost

Ford positions the factory package as an attainable entry to Mustang performance with GT race-derived anti-lag.

Overview

  • The RTR package keeps the 2.3-liter EcoBoost at 315 hp and 350 lb-ft with a 10-speed automatic and adds an anti-lag system drawn from the Ford GT race program for faster turbo response.
  • Chassis upgrades include the Dark Horse rear subframe, front and rear anti-roll bars, adjustable top mounts, and Brembo GT Performance brakes with six-piston fronts and four-piston rears.
  • A revised steering gear increases lock, the Track mode stability control is retuned for more slip, and an electronic drift brake and active-valve exhaust are standard; MagneRide dampers are optional with RTR-specific tuning.
  • An optional Ford Performance plug-and-play tune lifts output to about 350 hp and 400 lb-ft while retaining the powertrain warranty.
  • Available only on EcoBoost fastback trims and automatic-only, the factory-built RTR will open U.S. orders in spring 2026 for summer 2026 deliveries, with pricing to be announced and production from Flat Rock in collaboration with RTR Vehicles.
