Forces Seize Seven Aircraft in Veracruz Raids Targeting Suspected Clandestine Helipad

Officials describe the actions as intelligence-led efforts to disrupt criminal logistics networks.

  • Federal and state forces raided a property in Medellín de Bravo alleged to be a clandestine helipad, detaining one person whose identity was not released.
  • From that site, authorities secured six helicopters, one airplane and a fuselage, along with three handguns, three magazines, 45 rounds and a vehicle.
  • A simultaneous operation in Tierra Blanca recovered four long guns, 13 magazines, 21 rounds, four radio units, nine tactical vests, other tactical gear and a vehicle.
  • The aircraft located on the properties were placed under federal custody as investigations continue.
  • The Navy, National Guard, Army, Veracruz state prosecutor’s office and state police coordinated the actions, and officials have not announced charges or the detainee’s legal status.
