Forbidden Replaces Daniel 'Chewy' Mongrain With Jeremy Von Epp

The band cites scheduling conflicts with Voivod commitments, with new material now in pre-production.

Overview

  • Forbidden announced the move on November 18 via social media, welcoming Jeremy Von Epp as “new blood.”
  • Von Epp had filled in at October shows at Aftershock in Sacramento and Grita Fest in Colombia, leading the band to make him a permanent member after strong onstage chemistry.
  • Daniel “Chewy” Mongrain described the split as amicable, noting that overlapping duties with Voivod and other projects made long-term touring impractical.
  • Mongrain’s contributions remain on three new Forbidden songs, including the recent singles Divided By Zero and Mutually Assured Dysfunction recorded at Sharkbite Studios with engineer/co-producer Zack Ohren.
  • The band says it is writing, recording, and pre-producing additional material and expects to share more updates soon.
