• Police identified the accused as Dylan Jake Fitzgerald, 39, who appeared in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody without applying for bail.
• He faces multiple charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving under the influence, evading police and driving while suspended.
• Officers say the small pantech truck was reported stolen from Elizabeth Street in Brisbane about 10:15am before ground units and PolAir tracked it more than 200km up the Bruce Highway.
• Tyre-deflation devices were deployed at Yandina, after which the truck continued on its rims and spot grass fires were reported along the verge, which authorities believe were ignited by metal scraping the road.
• The vehicle stopped near Canterwood Road at Owanyilla, south of Maryborough, about 1:53pm, where the driver was arrested; police have released helicopter and bodycam vision and are seeking dashcam footage.
