• The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at Warner Avenue and South Broadway in Santa Ana, police said.
• Richardson Ayala, 67, of Anaheim, died at the scene after his food truck was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Trailblazer.
• Investigators said Ayala was heading west on Warner and attempted a left turn onto southbound Broadway when the collision happened.
• Ayala was partially ejected through the driver’s window and the truck overturned onto him, according to police.
• Ayala’s wife was taken to a hospital and the SUV driver sustained minor injuries; witnesses are asked to call 714-245-8207.
