Food Influencer Rebecca Wylie Simms Dies at 39 Following Surgery Complications

The co-founder of Los Angeles cheese shop Lady & Larder is remembered for her creativity, optimism, and devotion to family and community.

Rebecca Wylie Simms, affectionately known as Boo, passed away at age 39 due to complications from a recent surgery, as confirmed by her twin sister Sarah Simms Hendrix on social media.
Simms co-owned the popular cheese shop Lady & Larder with her sister, which has locations in Santa Monica and Carmel Valley, the latter of which will temporarily close following her death.
She is survived by her husband, Sean Montes, and their two young daughters, Mavis (3) and Bertie Lou (2), who frequently appeared in her social media posts celebrating family life.
Tributes have poured in from fans, friends, and celebrities, including Mandy Moore, Busy Philipps, and Mark Duplass, who praised her positivity, creativity, and impact on her community.
In addition to her work at Lady & Larder, Simms served as the Senior Creative Director at Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar and was celebrated for her vibrant personality and artistic vision.
